There are quite a few videos with the classico bass on you tube at the moment by the band Blue Dogs.

Is this anyone from the forum?

Don't know, but I like it!

Interesting; looks like he's fitted the bridge with a set of piezos.

Seems a bit redundant....but maybe the original electronics are bypassed?  I imagine few Classico's have the RF upgrade (2019 version*)  I contemplated a setup like this as a backup when I was able to "dial in" local TV stations by turning the bass on stage!  It made for an amusing interlude between songs (think Spinal Tap) but not very satisfying for a whole gig.

* Ron W designed a new RF circuit in 2019 for Classico's to handle all the new Digital beasties floating in the wind since the old analog days.

I can envision using both a piezo bridge and the onboard electronics, sending each source to a separate input. Almost like a Series bass. Don't know if that's what this cat is doing, but I can see a lot of potential there.

Durnit. Gears are grinding again. I don't need a Classico, I don't need a Classico, I DON'T NEED A CLASSICO.  :P

Ok...I think they only make 2 a year.....what since 1994?  So that makes it about 56 Classico's?  I'd consider that a Limited Edition! ;D 8)

Greg, you are right you don't NEED a Classico.  So the real question is how much do you want one and how much are you comfortable paying for one. That was my thought process and i ended up with one. Never regretted it even though i probably have done 6 gigs with it since i bought mine in 2018 and only half where i used it for the whole gig.

Well said, Jazzy. In my case, it just comes down to having no gigs to play it on, and if I did, my trusty old upright is gathering dust in the next room. Simply no justification for an electric upright exists right now. But it could happen again, I'm really hoping that it will, so... that little notion to work on a deal never quite gets banished.  ;)

I've never gigged mine but I love having it and certainly don't regret buying it.

As Henry Royce once said: "The Quality Remains Long After The Price Is Forgotten."

Also.  By the time you Need one...it could take years to either make one or find a used one.
